This information is for California residents only. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a data privacy law that regulates how businesses are to handle the personal information (PI) of California residents. This privacy rights secured for California residents by the CCPA include:
The right to know about the personal information a business collects about them and how it is used and shared; The right to delete personal information collected from them (with some exceptions); and the right to opt-out of the sale of their personal information.
The CCPA does not apply to “protected health information” under HIPAA; “medical information” under the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA); nonpublic “personal information” under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) or California Financial Information Privacy Act (CalFIPA); de-identified or aggregated information; or publicly available information.
